Are there alternative options to a vasectomy?

Vasectomy is basically a permanent surgical process of male birth control. Besides this surgery there are various other alternatives as well which can be used by men as a means of birth control. Use of condoms can prove to be an excellent alternative to vasectomy.

Condom is a latex item which is fitted over the shaft of men’s penis and prevents the semen from reaching the uterus of the woman. Besides preventing pregnancy, condoms also provide protection from sexually transmitted diseases. Another alternative option to vasectomy is the fertility awareness. This method is used to track the fertility with the help of menstrual cycle. These methods prove to be beneficial in many ways as it does not involve any use of chemicals, surgery or artificial substance. Tube ligation is also another option but it is performed on a woman.

Under this procedure, the fallopian tubes of the women are surgically cut so that the eggs cannot travel towards the uterus to get fertilized. Thus when a woman prefers to be in charge of the birth control methods then tubal ligation proves to be an effective alternative to vasectomy. A new method called Vasclip is also an option to this surgery but it can be called as a variation of vasectomy. Vasclip is basically a clip which is placed on the vas deferens to seal it without making any cuts
