What are some of the dangers of a vasectomy?

Just like any other surgery there are some dangers and side effects associated with vasectomy as well.  Pain is one of the most common problems faced by the people who undergo this surgery. Though most the pain responds to a mild analgesic but in few cases they can be chronic as well. Some people may also experience swelling which is called hematoma that persists for few days. Infection may also be a danger associated with vasectomy which may lead to bruising, swelling and redness.

Granulomas lump which is non cancerous may also be formed in some people due to sperm leakage in scrotal tissues. This results in inflammatory reaction. These lumps are generally sensitive to pressure and touch, and is also painful. Another danger associated with this surgical procedure is epididymitis which occurs when there is inflammation on the spot of vasectomy and leads to the swelling of epididymis. Some men may also feel aches in the scrotum region which may persist for few hours of few days. Besides these there are other dangers as well which include post vasectomy pain called chronic orchialagia, allergic reaction to the anesthetic, sexual difficulties, bleeding and others.
