What is Dysmenorrhea?

Dysmenorrhea is a condition in which a female has extreme pain and cramps during their menstruation. There are basically two types of dysmenorrheal, primary and secondary. Primary dysmenorrheal is the condition in which there is extreme pain and cramping from the inception till the end. The reason for this might be abnormal uterine contractions. Secondary dysmenorrheal is the condition which is common due to some physical changes and mainly comes into picture in the later onset. Pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis might be the possible causes. Dysmenorrhea can happen to any female but in some cases there are higher chances. Dysmenorrhea is characterized by severe cramping in the lower part of the abdomen, nausea, lower back pain, weakness, fainting, headaches etc. However, these symptoms indicate some other medical conditions too. Therefore it is important to seek medical attention for proper diagnosis and treatment.
