Many women who have postpartum depression avoid going to the doctor because they feel that with time, things will be fine. But sometimes, things may get worse. Baby blues must go within some time. But if it does not go, it’s the time to check out seriously. Postpartum depression is serious because it interferes with the woman’s ability to take care of the new baby. It might even affect the bonding with the infant. And it can harm the physical and mental health of the new mom because she is facing stress, sleeping problems, eating disorders and many more problems. It is therefore important to consult the doctor immediately when symptoms of postpartum depression come into picture. The longer this depression is left untreated, higher will be the dangers.
