Menopause is the period in a woman’s life when she does not have had a menstrual period for at least 12 months and her ovaries have stopped functioning. The typical age for a woman to reach menopause is between 40 to 60 years.
Most of the women face symptoms of menopause which is quite natural. Its first symptom of menopause is the change in the length of the cycle. Their symptoms are hot flashes, night sweats or cold flashes, loss of libido and vaginal dryness. Hot flash is the condition wherein there is a sudden sensation of heat over the whole body and occurs due to lack of estrogen. When hot flashes occur in the night is known as night sweats. Loss of libido is the condition where there are less desires for sex that might happen due to a lot of reasons.
Vaginal dryness occurs due to lower level of estrogen. Mood swing is another problem which causes sadness, anger, anxiousness, depression and irritation. Menopause may also cause migraine headaches. Fatigue is a common symptom which seems not to last long. There are many other symptoms including hair fall, sleep disorders, weight gain, mental confusion, increased bleeding, joint pains, breast pain, and digestion problem. |
